Finance and Accounting The Finance team is responsible for processing invoices from suppliers, payroll for Loewen employees, payment application, invoicing customers, and financial reporting to the company’s executives and shareholders. The Credit team deals with all collection activity as well as credit risk management.

Human Resources The Human Resources team works to support our manufacturing and administrative functions. We strategically develop and implement policies and programs relating to health and safety, staffing and employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development, and general HR services (including food services).

Information Technology and eBusiness Our Information Technology and eBusiness team is responsible for all communications technology, the development, maintenance and management of our systems, software and servers for eBusiness technology, internal business systems and our dealer quotation tool. This requires a talented team of programmers, technical specialists, help desk and customer service support staff.

Research and Product Development The Research and Product Development team is responsible for design and refinement of products to support corporate marketing strategies. This occurs through new product designs, design changes and enhancements to existing products in response to changing market demands, material improvements, process improvements, competitive pressures, and code changes brought on by various regulatory bodies. Additionally, emerging technologies are researched to evaluate their suitability for inclusion in Loewen product offerings.

Production The Production Business Units are responsible for approximately 85% of the activities required to plan and manufacture the windows and doors for our valued customers. From receiving the order from Production Planning to ensuring the right materials and manufacturing instructions are used to crafting and finishing the product, we ensure that every step of the process meets high quality standards before being delivered to the homeowner.

Production Planning Production Planning is responsible for establishing lead times and scheduling work so that all Business Units are synchronized. Production Planning releases all work orders to manufacturing including internal supply areas and coordinates implementation of any work order changes. We also help Business Units to identify priorities and communicate status and changes back to the Customer Support team. Planning facilitates problem solving and promotes continuous improvement plant-wide.

Manufacturing Engineering Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for providing services to production teams, focused on modeling and analysis of manufacturing systems, product design and its manufacturability, machinery and process diagnosis, process control systems analysis, and design. This is accomplished through many forms of analysis and evaluation including structured problem solving, evaluating human factors and ergonomics, capacity analysis, conducting productivity analysis, and developing specifications for buying equipment.

Purchasing, Logistics and Inventory Control The Supply Chain team is responsible for the procurement of goods and services, supply agreement creation and contract management, shipping and receiving, and inventory control, which includes management of obsolete or surplus assets.

Facilities Engineering and Maintenance The Facilities Engineering and Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining the assets (building systems, machinery and equipment) of Loewen to the highest possible standards through: superior customer service, continuous improvement, total productive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and timely emergency response.

Quality Assurance The Quality Assurance team is responsible for helping all areas of the organization identify waste and compile the various inputs of waste at Loewen through internal, external and supplier non-conformances. The end goal of this process is to eliminate root causes of waste thus preventing the issue from reoccurring. The problem solving process requires QA team members, whether in the office or on the shop floor, to work at the source to actually ‘see’ the problem and speak to the people who do the work.

Lean Transformation The Lean Transformation team provides support to all areas of Loewen. The two main areas of service include: facilitating the redesign of business processes and facilitating Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, including the development, teaching and practicing of Loewen Lean tools and processes.

Shipping The Shipping team has the responsibility of managing finished product inventory and the proper loading and securing of product for safe and timely transportation to our customer. This ensures that the correct products arrive at the customer’s dock in good condition and on time.

Marketing The Marketing team is responsible for choosing target markets, attracting and retaining customers, and strengthening the Loewen brand through the development and delivery of exceptional customer value.

Customer Service The Customer Service team includes front-line Sales, Service and Drafting employees. We work closely with dealers and customers to provide product information, quotes, drawings and warranty parts and service. It is our responsibility to ensure orders are entered and shipped correctly and to resolve any customer concerns once the windows and doors are installed.

Sales The Sales team is responsible for providing window and door solutions to the luxury marketplace across Canada, the United States and internationally (ie. Mexico, Japan, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic and the Philippines). We have many partners in our Sales Distribution Channel including our Territory Managers who work with homeowners, dealers, builders and architects. To enrich the purchasing experience for our customers, we also have an extensive network of Dealers who provide our customers with comprehensive product knowledge in an interactive and inspiring showroom environment.
