The C. P. Loewen Family Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of charitable causes as expressed in its Mission--"Grounded in faith, we will nurture the strength and vibrancy of people, communities and the earth within which we live." Its Vision further states that "Through focused and effective strategies and leveraged partnerships we will use our wealth, knowledge, and passion to be a model for successful philanthropy."

The Foundation's Areas of Concern include education, faith, environment, poverty alleviation, and community building in areas in which Loewen employees live and work. The Foundation's granting impacts these areas not only in North America but in other parts of the world as well. The Foundation operates through the guidance of the Board of Directors, whose members are also shareholders of C.P. Loewen Enterprises, Ltd. The late C.P. Loewen, the second-generation owner of the company was the founder of the C.P. Loewen Family Foundation.
