Loewen Represented at Manitoba's Green Future Conference

Charles Loewen, Chief Executive Officer, was one of the key Manitoba leaders chosen to speak about finding solutions for a greener Manitoba economy during the Manitoba’s Green Future Conference on October 23, 2007.

“Canada’s and Manitoba’s future prosperity depends on both a vibrant economy and a healthy environment,” says Loewen. “I believe it is possible to enhance economic competitiveness and environmental protection. Governments need to consult with and collaborate with businesses to achieve effective and strategic policies.”

The one-day conference was hosted by the Government of Manitoba and the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and featured guest speakers, including: Honorable Gary Doer, Premier of Manitoba; Honorable Janet Napolitano, Governor of Arizona; Honorable Gordon Campbell, Premier of British Columbia; and, conference chair, Dr. Lloyd Axworthy. The conference included interactive workshops to discuss topics such as energy efficiency, green manufacturing, and sustainable land use practices and how to succeed in Manitoba’s green economy.
