Loewen welcomes new Vice President of Operations

Steinbach, MB - Loewen announced today that Scott Keddie has been hired as the company's new Vice President of Operations. Keddie comes to Loewen with a strong background in operations leadership. He assumed his new duties on Monday, February 14, 2005, reporting to Senior Vice President Gary Timlick.

As Vice President of Operations, Keddie will merge the skill, knowledge and know-how of Loewen's experienced and talented Operations team with his vision for growing the company's capacity to meet the needs of Loewen customers. As a member of the Loewen Executive team, Keddie will be leading strategies focusing on on-time delivery, product quality, safety and waste reduction.

After obtaining his degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1985, Keddie began with the Boeing corporation as a Senior Industrial Engineer. He has held a variety of senior management positions at Boeing including Industrial Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing Support, Supplier Management and, most recently, Director of Operations.
