Loewen Adds Mahogany Across Its Product Line

STEINBACH, MB - This month, Loewen’s latest custom feature - Mahogany - is available to order. This new wood species option, available across Loewen’s extensive product line, was first shown at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando, Florida, January 13 to 16, 2005.

"For years, the use of coastal Douglas Fir has been a hallmark of the Loewen brand. With the addition of Mahogany, we have effectively doubled the number of window and door choices our customers have available to them."

Why Mahogany? Like Douglas Fir, Mahogany is known for its natural strength and resistance to decay and insect infestation. Its rich grain and distinct coloring make it a beautiful choice for luxury homes and high-end light commercial projects - a perfect fit for discerning Loewen customers.

Consistent with its practices on environmental stewardship, Loewen will only be acquiring Mahogany from sources that can certify that the lumber has been harvested legally and in a sustainable manner.
