DOUBLE HUNG STANDARD FEATURES

Opening from both the top and the bottom, Double Hung windows are proof that certain classic looks never go out of style. We have taken steps to ensure these timeless beauties perform better than ever.

Thanks to our innovative balance system, Loewen Double Hung windows open and close smoothly. A special tilt latching system also provides inward tilting of the sash for easy cleaning – or complete removal.

SINGLE HUNG STANDARD FEATURES

Like Double Hung windows, Single Hung windows feature a movable sash that slides vertically within the plane of the window frame. In a Single Hung window, only the bottom sash operates. Restricting operation to one sash helps improve thermal performance, sound attenuation and other important performance characteristics. Similar in appearance, Single and Double Hung windows may be placed in close proximity.

BOW & BAY STANDARD FEATURES

Unlike other options, Bow and Bay windows actually add valuable living space to your home – how much extra space is up to you.

Loewen three-sided Bay windows can be built at one of three fixed angles – 34, 45 or 90 degrees (45 degrees shown above).

Bow windows feature a series of four or more adjoining windows that form an arc or bow.

PICTURE STANDARD FEATURES

Picture windows do not open, but you can create the ideal combination of view and ventilation by pairing them with Loewen Awning, Sliding, Access or Casement windows.

Loewen offers ¾” (19mm) thick jambs (jamb refers to the vertical frame segment) and also a 1 3/8” (35 mm) version. Both have a 1 3/8” (35 mm) thick sill (horizontal bottom segment).

AWNING STANDARD FEATURES

Awning windows open out from the bottom, letting air circulate freely while providing a unique protective shield to keep rain out.

You can order Loewen Awning windows single, stacked, side-by-side or matched with Picture windows – letting you create the look and function you need. Loewen Awning windows are available with quick release sashes and heavy-duty sash locks that provide a snug, weather-tight seal and outstanding thermal performance.

ACCESS STANDARD FEATURES

Our unique design allows the sash to rotate 180 degrees outside the window frame, leaving your draperies and blinds untouched and making exterior cleaning a breeze.

SLIDING PATIO STANDARD FEATURES

Functioning like large moving windows, Loewen Sliding Patio doors can open up the walls in your home to dramatic new possibilities – imagine our spectacular seven-panel, 24’ wide model, for example.

To make our doors safe, secure and easy to operate, Loewen uses laminated sash construction, thick, tempered safety glass and smooth tandem rollers. Both Wood Patio (narrowline) and French Patio (wider stiles and taller bottom rail) are available.

SWINGING TERRACE STANDARD FEATURES

Loewen offers two styles of Terrace Doors to choose from: Traditional and French. Traditional Terrace doors hinge in the middle so that one panel is fixed and the other operates. By contrast, French Terrace doors are hinged on the outside to allow both doors to operate from the middle. Outswing versions of both styles are available as options.

Other design options include Mid-Rail and raised panel doors, fixed or venting Sidelites and Transoms.

LIFTSLIDE STANDARD FEATURES

The Loewen LiftSlide allows expansive glass panels (up to 70 square feet in a single panel) to roll smoothly and easily when opening and closing. This not only gives you a panoramic view, it opens up living space in your home. The LiftSlide can be built in straight, radius, and serpentine configurations. While the LiftSlide is a unique door product, it is fully compatible with the Loewen product portfolio.
