Loewen Product Guide Wins Awards

The Loewen Product Guide has been recognized by several prominent associations for creative and marketing excellence. Direct Focus Marketing Communications of Winnipeg (an advertising partner) and Loewen have won a Crystal Award of Excellence - the highest creative distinction in The Communicator Awards competition - for our new Product Guide. In addition, the Loewen Product Guide also won the Advertising Association of Winnipeg's highest distinction, a Signature Award. And finally, the prestigious Summit Creative Award named the Loewen Product Guide as their Silver Medalist for Consumer Brochures in 2004.
An international competition, The Communicator Awards are judged and awarded each year in Arlington, Texas. Loewen was one of only six Canadian companies to win this top honor - and the only one from Manitoba. Signature Awards are presented annually to Winnipeg ad agencies nominated in 16 different categories. The Summits have been awarded since 1994 and last year over 3,000 entries were received from more than 20 countries.
All three awards recognize outstanding work in the communications field. Entries are judged by communication industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Over 3,700 Communicator entries from the United States and several other countries were received in the 2004 competition, while the Signatures had 320 nominees.

A collaboration including Advertising, Sales, Dealer Agents, eBusiness and Marketing created the Product Guide but it's our products that are the heroes of the piece, so credit goes to every Loewen employee and partner," added Mitch Toews, Loewen Manager of Advertising and Corporate Communications.

Loewen Senior VP of Sales and Operations, Gary Timlick offered that, "Third-party awards such as this are valuable in that they offer an objective, professional indicator that our marketing communications are in tune with industry best practices. That, combined with Dealer input and increased sales give us useful measures of success."
Exceptional lay-out and page composition, dramatic photography and quality content were some of the attributes cited by contest judges.
