decay. Carefully gathered from recognized controlled sources, the rich, fine-grained beauty of Mahogany
fits perfectly with the quality and refinement that homeowners, custom builders, architects and designers
have come to expect from Loewen.
From fine furniture to custom cabinetry, the natural beauty and strength of Mahogany has
made this wood a popular choice for centuries. This hardwood’s unique appearance and natural
durability ensure that your windows and doors will stand the test of time, nature and fashion.

Mahogany is short grained relative to fir. Like fir, it patinas to a deeper red tone
over time. Mahogany may be polished to a high luster, if desired. |
Mahogany is a dense hardwood with a hardness measure
comparable to fir (Douglas Fir 710 lbs, Genuine Mahogany
800 lbs**). Dent resistance with furniture-grade finish
properties. Tightly interwoven grain resists splintering,
accepts detailed profiling and holds fasteners solidly. Like
Douglas Fir, Mahogany is dimensionally stable. |
